Designing and 3D Printing a Housing for a Bluetooth Adapter Card

A recent project I worked on was creating a secure housing for a Bluetooth adapter to mount to the underside of a desk. When designing this component, I measured all ports and wires, making sure there was proper space and cut-outs to accommodate each. I also designed ventilation ports to insure the Bluetooth adapter was getting enough airflow. After the design was finished, I 3D printed the housing and successfully installed it.

Designing and 3D Printing a Derby Car for Club Competition

As an officer in the Oregon State University 3D Printing Club, I helped organize the annual 3D printed derby car race. Additionally, I designed and fabricated my own race car for the competition. Drawing inspiration from sushi, I crafted a derby car that went through two rounds of refinement to ensure it was both visually appealing and durable. While I incorporated pre-existing sushi pieces into the design, I created the rest of the car's structure. At the end of the event, my car received the award for being the most popular car out of over 20 submissions.

Designing and Building a Chess Board

Using woodworking techniques, I crafted a chess board from walnut and pine wood. I began by designing the layout and noting down the necessary cuts. By cutting and gluing the wood multiple times, rows of even squares were created. After assembling the wood pieces, I applied a protective coating to enhance its durability and finish the board. 

Creating a Replacement Closet Part

When a key part of my closet broke, I used SolidWorks and 3D printing to create a replacement. I measured the broken piece with calipers to ensure precise dimensions and created a detailed CAD model. After finalizing the design, I 3D-printed the part, which fit perfectly into the closet assembly and restored its functionality. This project highlights my ability to apply precision design and manufacturing to solve practical problems.
